About the Artist

Bonnie White is an artist and a Spiritualist medium  Her art manifests Spirit and her mediumship allows Spirit to manifest in art.  Her life’s work melds these two activities and each nourishes the other in a unique and enduring way.

The seeds for developing these gifts were sown early in Bonnie’s life.  The awareness of the continuity of Spirit came to Bonnie as a child when she left her body at night and returned to see an Angel standing at the foot of her bed.  All life forms, especially flowers, were entities to her, and she spent many hours in communication with them.  Her experiences with art and Spirit came naturally in her family circle as her father was an artist and her mother, a poet.  Her father was also a healer who could take away pain from people, but he always made them promise to go see a medical professional as soon as possible.  Another early influence was Bonnie’s Aunt Clara, whose daughter and husband had passed and who shared many of her personal spiritual experiences with Bonnie.  For example, knowing nothing about electrical contracting, Clara was able to step into her husband’s business, bid jobs, and meet payrolls for the employees, because her deceased husband communicated specific information to her from the heaven world.

After she earned a B.A. degree in art and taught art in the public schools, Bonnie raised her family on Bonnie Brae Farm, a dairy farm in Western New York State.  Ever creative she turned the side of a baby crib into a loom and began weaving.  Soon she had a flock of sheep and four looms and was designing and weaving fashionable stoles and jackets from natural fibers.  Many of these creations have been around the world.  During this time she joined with a group of friends to form a quilting circle that soon turned into a meditation and healing circle. In Bonnie’s words, ”We would meditate with our children hopping in and out of our laps.  It was natural.  It was a beautiful time as we learned so much about the higher planes of existence and shared profound experiences.”

From this home circle, Bonnie expanded her studies to include Reiki healing and Advanced Mediumship with Trilogy Institute.  She faithfully participated in mediumship circles at the Church of the Living Spirit in Lily Dale led by Patricia Price, Judith Rochester, as well as visiting mediums from around the world.  She, also, traveled to England to study Spirit communication at the Arthur Findlay College.

Bonnie resides in Lily Dale, New York where she serves as a Registered Medium, a healer and a Spirit Artist.

The Connections Between Art and Spirit 
Bonnie works in several artistic mediums: oil, pastel, acrylic, and watercolor.  In addition to oil portraits and landscapes, she paints inspired visionary art.  Her plein air paintings connect her with the spirit of place, rocks, trees, and sky.  Bonnie loves to paint portraits, plein air landscapes and the beautiful energy of still life.  (There is no life that is still.)  Spiritual energy surrounds the people and places she paints, and that energy comes through in surprising ways demonstrating her core commitments:

1.  Painting inspires and develops inner vision. 

2.  In art the likenesses of meaningful faces and circumstances show up in Spirit Art.  

3.  A portrait confirms the basic honesty of an individual that will not ever leave, but will always send new opportunities from the interior nature if allowed.  

4.  Every mark a person makes also conveys his or her interior hopes and dreams as if they were spoken words.

5.  To paint landscapes affirms our deep connection to the energy that is our gift and support in every balanced step, in every breath we take, in every moment.

6.  To paint with no expectations is to allow profound moments to arise from the painting itself.  

7.  This is why Bonnie often begins a painting with her eyes closed.

 
Bonnie’s Vita:

Bonnie White resides in Lily Dale, NY.  She is a Lily Dale Registered Medium, a Church of the Living Spirit Certified Medium and Healer, and a Spirit Artist.  She holds a B.A. degree in Art from Berea College.  She has studied with Plein Air Artists Lois Griffel, Louise Pond, Michael Chesley Johnson, Diane Mannion and Portrait Artists Paul W. McCormack, Mary Minifie, David Leffel, Douglas Flynt. She is a member of the Visual Arts Center in Punta Gorda, Florida and the Peace River Painters.
